Nick Larrimore, CGCS (Superintendent), Plantation Lakes Country Club

Nick Larrimore has been active in the golf course industry for 12 years working at various facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region. His experiences range from daily fee public facilities to high end private facilities. His pride in efficient utilization of staff and resources to provide consistent championship quality on a daily basis has been a great asset since joining GMS and Plantation Lakes this year.

Nick’s formal education includes completion of his Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Science at Penn State University and Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Goldey-Beacom College. He has experienced many great golf course construction projects from planning through completion.  With an impressive background, he also has tournament experience at Merion Golf Club during the 2009 Walker Cup Tournament and Wilmington Country Club during the 2013 Palmer Cup.

Nick is currently the Golf Course Superintendent at Plantation Lakes Golf & Country Club where exciting things are happening! The original front nine holes have been ranked in the top 3 courses in Delaware for the past two consecutive years.  Nick worked extremely hard to help with the construction and maturation of the back 9 holes in 2020.  Plantation Lakes continues to be recognized as one of the top golf courses in Delaware.

Darrin Baker, CGCS (Superintendent), Musgrove CC
Jasper, AL

Darrin is the new superintendent at Musgrove CC.  He will start on October 9, 2023 and we are excited about his experience and leadership skills.  More to come.  Welcome Darrin!

Scott White (Superintendent), Urbana Country Club, Urbana, IL

Scott has been in the golf industry for 27 years working in both the public and private sectors. Originally from Illinois, he grew up mowing lawns as a kid before taking a summer job at the local country club in high school.  After just one summer, he knew this was the career for him and attended Danville Area Community College before making his way to Purdue University to study Turfgrass Science.

With over 14 years of superintendent experience, he has built two golf courses in addition to managing a wide variety of golf course renovations.  His resume includes renovating nearly 100 tees, 120 bunkers, construction of 34 new greens, construction of a short game facility, multiple drainage and irrigation projects, numerous turf type renovations, and certifying 3 properties as Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries. Scott also has served on both local and national industry committees and boards through the years which has allowed him to give back to the profession he loves.

Now in his 7th year at Urbana Country Club, Scott prides himself in team building and bringing a new culture in the maintenance operation while continuint to improve the golf course.  The team wrapped up multiple in-house tee renovations, construction of a new putting green and various other project in 2019 with much more excitement ahead for this property.

Vernon Lewis (Superintendent), Pueblo del Sol Country Club
Sierra Vista, AZ

Vern has worked in golf course maintenance throughout Arizona since 1984.  His experience includes over 30 years as a head golf course superintendent and most recently was brought on as the head superintendent at Pueblo Del Sol Country Club in February of 2020.

With a strong background in all areas of golf course maintenance, Vern has especially been instrumental in irrigation installation / management, hands on construction projects and strong fiscal management.  He works hard to ensure he has a strong team through leading by example.  We are pleased to have Vern on board at PDS and know his vast experience will help this property continue progress.

Mark Wilson (Director of Golf Course Maintenance), The Villages Golf & Country Club
San Jose, CA

Mark began his golf course maintenance career while in high school.  Now with over 45 years of experience working with a wide variety of properties on the west coast, he is a very well-rounded golf course maintenance professional.  He brings strong knowledge of both cool season and warm season grasses and has taken on various agronomic projects with great success.

His career started in the San Francisco Bay area in the mid 1970’s.  Mark’s career path then took him to Oregon where he became a superintendent in the early 80’s.  Eventually his skills were recognized and utilized as he became a regional golf course superintendent and supported 10 golf courses for one of the largest golf course management companies in the world.  It was during this time that Mark first met and worked with others from GMS.  Mark’s passion for learning then brought him to the central valley of California as well as into southern California.

Mark is currently the Director of Golf Course Maintenance at The Villages Golf & Country Club where he brings great focus on staff development, agronomic stabilization, small projects and addressing the needs of the golf course to ensure a great golf experience for the members and guests of this community.

Tom Carlson (Superintendent), Myakka Pines Golf Club
Englewood, FL
